WSJ.com – Anheuser, InBev Reach A Deal for $52 Billion
DeaconDavid’s comment: I kind of hate to see this, but I guess it was a deal they could not refuse. My first job out of college was with DDB Needham as an assistant media planner on Busch Beer, so I’ve always been partial to the Anheuser-Busch brand of beers. I was there when Spuds Mckinzie was all the rage. Those were good times. I hope everything goes well for both companies.
Anheuser-Busch agreed to be acquired by InBev for about $52 billion, creating the world’s largest beer maker and placing an iconic American company in the hands of a Belgian-Brazilian giant. The $70-a-share deal marks an abrupt end to what many expected to be a prolonged takeover drama.
