Have You Noticed That Our Food Is Shrinking?

June 30, 2008

I saw this story, CLICK HERE, today about how several major food suppliers are lowering the amount of food and drink they put into the containers that we buy on a regular basis.  As we already know our dollars don’t buy as much as they used to, but now, we are actually getting smaller packages and many of us don’t even recognize it.  A couple of examples given in the story include the fact that several of the Kellogg’s brands of cereal now contain an average of 2.4 fewer ounces than they used to, and Wrigley’s is dropping it’s 17-stick PlenTPak in favor of a 15-stick Slim Pack.

Unfortunately I don’t see this trend stopping anytime soon.  Keep your eyes open and shop wisely.

I found it interesting…I hope you do too

Angels pitch a no-no, but lose to the LA Dodgers!

June 29, 2008

Jered Weaver tossed six innings of no hit baseball on 6-28-08, and lost!

How in the world do your team pitch a no hitter and still lose?  It’s only been done five times in the history of baseball.  The fifth time was yesterday, when the Angels and the LA Dodgers hooked up for a bizzare date with history.  You can read the whole story by CLICKING HERE.  I did not see it myself, but that had to be amazing.

Don Imus says it was ‘sarcastic point’ not racist remark

June 24, 2008

My comment:  I know Don Imus is taking a lot of heat about this, but I can actually see his point on this one.  We know that African-American men don’t always get fair treatment by the men in blue, so I can understand him saying sarcastically that Pacman is getting arrested because the police have a bias against him already.

Don Imus, responding to criticism about racial remarks on his radio program, said on the air Tuesday he was trying to “make a sarcastic point” about unfair treatment of blacks in the criminal justice system but had been misunderstood.

Shaq Raps About Kobe Bryant

June 24, 2008

On Sunday night Shaq had the opportunity to try his hand at rapping at a club in New York and this is what he did, CLICK HERE.  If you watch the whole video, Stephen Smith gives a pretty good analysis of the situation.  In my opinion it was not necessary for Shaq to say what he said, but it does make interesting video to talk about.
