April 28, 2009

About half of all Americans have switched religions at least once, according to an in-depth survey released today. And that may still be a conservative estimate, says Luis Lugo, director of the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life.

Bush Says He Doubts Bible Literally True

December 9, 2008
President George W. Bush

President George W. Bush

President George W. Bush said that he is not a literalist when it comes to his Bible reading. What that means to me is that President Bush doesn’t believe that everything in the Bible happened exactly as it is written.  That’s not the way I was taught, but I guess he is entitled to his opinion, even if I think his opinion is wrong.  But if you look at the public opinion on President Bush you will see that I am not alone in believing that his opinion is wrong.  But back to the Bible; do you believe that the Bible is literally true?  Answer the opinion poll and leave your comments.

Wall Street Turns To Prayer

October 3, 2008

I saw this article, CLICK HERE, on Christianaity Today.  Just like in our everyday lives, it often takes a crisis to make us fall to our knees and call out to God.  That should not be the case, but at least the people in this article had enough sense to call on God instead of jumping out of windows like some have done when the money goes away.  I encourage us all to pray on a daily basis and not just to ask for stuff.  How about thanking God for all that he has already done for us…how about that breath you just took…thank him for the little things daily.

I found it interesting…I hope you do too.

Female ministers still not treated fairly

September 22, 2008

A religious magazine featuring female ministers is hidden due to church teachings. WSB reports.

HERE is the video that goes with this story.

Romans 16:1-3 mentions three different female deacons in the church. If women are good enough to serve in the church, then women are good enough to minister to the church.

How To Talk To Your Doctor About God

September 14, 2008

I ran across an article on CNN.com about how to talk to your doctor about God.  I found it to be insightful, uplifting, and interesting.  Please check out the full article HERE.

As a Christian, I view every aspect of life through my God, Jesus Christ, and Holy Bible filters, so it makes perfect sense that one should discuss God with their doctor.  I believe that it helps to have a doctor that believes in the same God that you do.  It has been known for years that prayer helps people to heal and recover faster than those who don’t pray or receive prayer.   I know for a fact that God has healed me and several loved ones without a reasonable explanation, but for those of us who believe we already know who did the healing.

I found it interesting…I hope you do too.

For Coach, God and Archery Are a Package Deal

August 20, 2008

Brady Ellison, Olympic Archer

DeaconDavid’s comment: I applaud and encourage anyone, especially those who have the public spotlight, who lifts up their relationship with Jesus Christ as being very important in their lives.

Kisik Lee has served the dual, if controversial, roles of the head coach of the United States archery team and a spiritual guide to some of its athletes.

God trumps doctors for many Americans

August 18, 2008

DeaconDavid’s comment:  I KNOW that God is a healer.  I’ve seen it too many times to not believe.  I know that science can’t explain it, but for those who have faith and believe it makes lots of sense.

Many Americans believe divine intervention can revive dying patients. Can science and miracles co-exist?
