The Marketing Of Michael Phelps Is A Long Term Plan

September 8, 2008

Michael Phelps has become a worldwide phenomen in what seems to be a few short weeks, but in reality the marketing plan for him has been in place for years.  I saw a very good article about the marketing of Michael Phelps in the the Daily Herald.  You can read it for yourself by CLICKING HERE.

I found it interesting that even though it looks like everything went according to plan his marketing team is concerned about overexposure for him now.  I also like the fact that he post to his own Facebook page, where he has over 1.5 million “Phans”.  What I really want to know is, is he a Christian?  I’ve seen a couple of different answers online to that question, but no official stance.  Hey Michael Phelps, if you want to promote your Christianity, I have a way for you to do it and let God get the glory for blessings you have received and for the blessings yet to come.

9-year old boy told he is too good to pitch

August 26, 2008

Jericho Scott

Some of you may have heard about 9-year old Jericho Scott who is an outstanding pitcher for a little league baseball team in New Haven, Connecticut.  He can throw up to 40 mph and after his team built a record of 8-0 is now being told that he is too good to pitch in that league.  You can read the full story HERE.  After reading the story it sounds to me like some if the parents are mad that they can’t beat this team and now want to take away one of their best wepons to try and even the playing field.  That’s just wrong and is very poor sportsmanship.  I understand that no one wants to lose, but to resort to this kind of behavior is a shame.

Let me know what you thinkby leaving your comments.

For Coach, God and Archery Are a Package Deal

August 20, 2008

Brady Ellison, Olympic Archer

DeaconDavid’s comment: I applaud and encourage anyone, especially those who have the public spotlight, who lifts up their relationship with Jesus Christ as being very important in their lives.

Kisik Lee has served the dual, if controversial, roles of the head coach of the United States archery team and a spiritual guide to some of its athletes.
