Merry Christmas

December 25, 2007

gift

It’s Christmas morning and I am first of all thankful for another chance to celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ. I’m thankful for the gift of Jesus Christ. I’m thankful for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I’m thankful for the gift of eternal life. I’m thankful for a loving family. I’m thankful for a warm home. I’m thankful for a good job, a working car, and clothes to wear. I’m thankful for a reasonable portion of health and strength. I’m thankful for the ability to put these words together and being able to glorify God yet again. I know this kind of sounds like it should have been written on Thanksgiving, but hey, I’m thankful and it just happens to be Christmas day today. May you all be blessed and have a very Merry Christmas.

Fraud 2.0

October 25, 2007

As though straight out of some biblical parable, for whatever reason, a percentage of those engaging in an activity will do it the good way while a percentage will do it the bad way. In sports or academics, they call it cheating. In our industry, they call it fraud….

This story is of interest to me because it hits home to my day job with Monster.com. As the Business Development Manger for the Monster AdNetwork, I have to be aware that everyone I talk to about lead generation and revenue sharing is not being totally honest about how they do business. That’s disturbing, and I’m not sure how you fix it, but that’s why I found this story to be interesting. Are there other people in the lead generation, Internet Marketing, AdNetwork business that have comments on this?

This is serious – Prayer Request For Jason Oman

October 13, 2007

When I checked my email this morning there was a serious request from Matt Bacak, whom I have a great deal of respect for, so I immediately opened it.  Here is what it said:

“Hello David,

This is a very serious email from Singapore.

A good friend of mine, Jason Oman
is in the hospital because he has
been having bad headaches so his
roommate took him to the hospital.

He has a brain aneurysm.

This has brought many friends to
stop in there tracks and update each
other about what is going on.

This is the last update from my good
friend Mike Litman and his co-author
of ‘Conversations with Millionaires’:

“They’ll know tomorrow after lunch
if their going to do surgery, Larry
Benet was told there’s a 30% chance
of full recovery…”

If you pray, I ask you please pray for
him. He has not only been a great influence
of on my life, but many others because of
his amazing insight and book promotion
strategies…

My prayers go out to him, and
if I was in Atlanta right now, I’d
be at the hospital with him.

In Singapore,

Matt Bacak

P.S. He’s only 34 years old, That goes to show
you how you need to appreciate everyday.”

I didn’t get Matt’s ok to share this email with you, but based on the nature of his prayer request, I’m making a spiritual decision to share this with you and ask that you join me, Matt, and anybody else who cares to pray for a full recovery for Jason Oman.

When and if I hear an update, I’ll let you know.

Thanks,

DeaconDavid
